What are You Paid to Do?
Some people are paid to think
others are paid to make decisions
some are paid to build stuff
others are paid to fix stuff
some are paid to learn
others are paid to teach
many are paid to serve
What are you paid to do?
Is it what you do best?
well …..um….i am not sure. i’ll have to think about it a bit more.
Currently I am paid to make booklets to lead people in Worship, apparently without my weekly work people could not worship on their own and then the world would fall a part, but hey its a job and it has insurance and enables me to serve at a church plant for no pay where we Worship God freely 🙂
Short answer, I am paid to create.
I don’t get paid anymore, but when I did it was for teaching elementary school kids.
LOVED IT!
I get paid looking at person’s wrecked cars.
Is it what I do best?? yeah in this season of life….
i get paid to translate (because business people & technical people don’t really speak the same language)
i get paid to manage system development projects
is that what i do best? hmmm……good question
i am the CEO of a very successfully run household of a family of four AND a pastors wife!
no moola. nuttin.
I protect people in a building and i watch out for things out of place or shouldn’t be there. I’m in security
I’m fuel coordinator for an oil distribution company. As far as what I get paid for, it really does include almost all the things above. You’re always building and repairing things, maybe not in the traditional sense, but when you are interacting with several delivery people and a jillion customers, it does require almost everything on the list. I think alot of jobs are the same way. We just don’t realize we are doing those things until we step back and take a look.
I’ve felt for two years that I might be paid to clean up crap. And no it’s not what I do best.
In reality, I think I am truly paid to create, lead, equip others to do ministry, shepherd a team of creative people into a dynamic relationship with Jesus, and – of course – lead others to worship and experience God so that I pray their lives are transformed from knowing Him. I think I am also payed to carry out the vision for worship ministry God has for our church.
Is this what I do best? For the most part.
It does include aspects I am really bad at – like managing schedules, typing pubs, figuring out lighting, and yes, cleaning up people messes!
I’m called on as an attorney to do all of those things. Except for physically build something. However, I could replace “build” with “write.”
Is it what I do best? I have yet to figure that out.
I get “paid” to wipe bottoms and noses. But I’m paid with sloppy kisses and crooked grins, so I guess it is worth it! 🙂
That’s a great question. I am paid to write for other people and make sure that everything that leaves this building (written/design-wise) is up to par with our company’s standards… I guess that’s the simplest way to put it.
I have no idea if that’s what I do best, though… how does one know such a thing?
P.S. Good seeing you Sunday!
It would just be nice to get paid!
I get paid to create & communicate and it IS the best thing i do!
I get paid to lead people in worship. The most exciting part of that is when I get to work with our students. I love those kids and there is nothing I’d rather do than teach students and lead them to worship.
paid to make sure the students and guests here have places to sleep while on campus.
is it what i’m good at?
not.
at.
all.
As a stay-at-home mom, I get paid in Target bucks. 🙂 Plus like Brandi, lots of messy kisses. I wish I were a better mom and sometimes have to remind myself to be better for my kids. Just like when I worked full-time in the office, have to remind myself some days to do better and work harder to see results…not just check e-mails and shift clutter from one side of the room to the other.
I love the diversity! We do some fun stuff…
create
teach
investigate/assess
translate
protect
organize
argue (that’s for you Jad 🙂 )
write
clean
talk (that’s you Randy!)
communicate
lead
love (that’s you Tam, Brandi & Rachel)
You all bring joy to my life. Thank you for being such amazingly unique and inspiring individuals!
I get paid to watch and entertain other people’s children. I’m very good at it, but it’s not what I’m destined to do. I’ll be ecstatic when I’m working in full time ministry…..again. 🙂
lead. create. move people. market. educate consumers.
