Rainy Monday

200236712-001

It’s raining here in Nashville today.

It’s interesting to me that it seems rain brings out extreme emotions in people.  For some, rainy days are gloomy and depressing.  For others (especially some of my creative friends), rainy, dreary days motivate them.

For me, rainy days make me tired.

For my dog, rainy days make him scared and nervous.

How about you?  What emotions does a rainy day evoke from you?

rainy days are the BEST, but you know that about me. any day the sun is NOT out, i’m happy. it actually makes me smile and feel happy when it’s cloudy and rainy…any kind of bad weather, just the best! (as long as no one gets hurt) it’s going to cloudy ALL WEEK, so i’m thrilled!

Rainy days are good for sitting/sleeping/lazily reading in my bed! for work, it makes me sleepy. I love the smell of rain though. Mmmm.
But right now, i think about driving out to cool springs in the rain to finish Christmas shopping … and it makes me sad!

i hate going anywhere in the rain. it makes me want to curl up on the couch by the fire with a book and open the shades so I can watch the rain coming down.

I love a good rainy day……..and thunderstorms are the BEST! I would just rather be at home, wrapped in a quilt and reading a good book. But I can only take a couple days of rain. My mother swears that I have Seasonal Affective Disorder. If I go too many days without sunshine, I get really depressed. Gotta have my sunshine!

Seems to be a theme that rainy days are good for curling up with a good book… now, I need to figure out how to make that happen!

I agree with most of the previous comments. I love to be at home, snuggled in with my two girls, and watch a good movie or read.

It was a good rainy day (break from the snow) yesterday here in Wisconsin, and we cuddled up and watched Christmas Movies and did puzzles afterwards.

I love rain, heavy thunderous rain pinging on the rooftops and rifling down the rain pipes. I could lay in bed all day and listen to the sound.

When I used to work at a walk in travel agency, rainy days were my favorite. It normally meant people were not wanting to get out to plan a trip and I would get so much more work done! Of course, once I came home, rainy days tend to suck the life out of me as the boys tend to have no way to release their energy. Still, there is nothing better than a nap or a good book and a hot drink on a cold rainy day!

  • SLEEP!!!!!!!!!!

I LOVE TO SLEEP DURING THE RAIN!!! It’s my all-time favorite thing to do!

i agree with everyone else. i love curling up with a good book, drinking some tea, dozing on and off… just being lazy and carefree!

I am productive as long as I don’t have to leave my house… if I have to get out in the rain… sometimes I get a little grumpy.

I love walking on rainy days. I also like to curl up by the fireplace with a good book. The thing I don’t enjoy doing on drizzly days “is housework”. With a dog and family members tracking in and out it’s hard to enjoy the fruits of your labor when it’s wet outside.

I work in it. So the rain can be troublesome. But when I can be home. I open my windows and let the smell permaneate my house and I write.

Oh man can I write to the rain.

Rainy days are great to get things done inside. Eventhough I don’t like rainy days I usually can make the best of it. It was a very strainge weekend. Sat. and Sun here in Wisconsinb was in the upper 30’s on Sat. with very low 40’s on Sun. We have about 10″ of snow on the ground. I love the snow and did not want it to melt. You need snow for Christmas. At 10:00pm on sunday night it was 41 degress, when I got up Monday morning at 5:00am is was -2. Talk about a temp. change.

@Dad – I agree, you must have snow for Christmas. Even after 12 years in Tennessee I’m still not used to not having snow for Christmas.

It depends on what’s going on in my life. Most of the time, rainy days help me to relax and I cuddle up under the covers and read a good book or watch a movie. But sometimes it can make me very sad.

A rainy day here and there is okay but what we have been experiencing in Nashville this past week or so is absolutely depressing. I could not live in Seattle.
