Sunday Highlights

WHEW!

I don’t know how else to sum up the day!

God is moving in the lives of people in the Nashville and Dickson communities and Cross Point is able to be a part of it!

Here’s a glimpse of the day at Nashville:

  • Pete delivered a challenging message about the “Fear of Judgment”.  So often we hide behind a composed exterior because we’re afraid of being found out for the junk that’s been a part of our lives.  He challenged us to open up and discover the grace and healing that can be found in community.
  • Speaking of community, Ricky Cook our Pastor of Spiritual Formation, and a host of group leaders offered over 40 different small groups for people to get plugged into.
  • A Cross Pointer shared her story of life’s hurts, disappointments, and struggles and how earlier this year she committed her life to Christ and found grace and healing in community.  Powerful!

I also want to say a big THANK YOU to those of you who shifted service times to 8:30, 11:45 or 6:00 pm!  We were still packed out with standing room only at the 10:30, but attendance was significantly up at the other services too.  Every little bit helps.  We had record attendance today and we couldn’t accomodate guests without the sacrifice that some of you are making to attend these other service times – thank you!!

God is transforming lives and we are privileged to be a part!

Ok I’ll go first, I have really been struggling with fear of certain Christians and being judged/rejected by them. Not having grown up us a Christian makes me feel like a bull in a China shop sometimes ,and there have been times when I was judged and rejected because well for no other reason than I just did not know any better at the time, and my spiritual muscles were just not as well defined or honestly even there . Let me tell it really hurts being treated this way when your a new Christian and just trying to get it right and make the changes that seem so impossible . It can very much test your faith when you find yourself at the end of the judgemet stick …..all I do know is God has transformed me in so many areas already .I can’t wait to see his plan for helping me conquer this fear.
