Sunday Highlights

Heal my heart and make it clean

Open up my eyes to the things unseen

Show me how to love like you have loved me

Break my heart for what breaks yours

Everything I am for your kingdom’s cause

This is the bridge to the song “Hosanna” which we sang in worship at Cross Point Nashville today.  I am gripped by the lyrics of this song every time we sing it, so needless to say God had my attention first thing in today’s service.

Blake, our Nashville Campus Pastor, then went on to share a message titled “Known” where he talked about our need to be known by God.  He challenged us with some great questions:

  • What do you want to be known for?  To make your name famous or to make the name of Christ famous?
  • Who are you trying to seek praise from?
  • How well do you know God and how well are you making him known?

We concluded the service with a time of communion together led by Pastor Tom.  A moving day of reflection this Passover Sunday!

I hope you all had a wonderful day too!

    Today was an awesome Sunday!

We were in a different ballroom than usual today (at our New Brunswick campus), but services still ran smoothly (despite the abnormally low ceiling that forced the band onto the floor (if we’d built the stage, the band would all have to sit in chairs 😛 ).

Tom, our Morristown campus pastor, spoke on keys to finding true joy in the midst of worry. It was the final sermon of our “Prison Break” series (a look at rejoicing through tough times through the lens of Paul’s letter to the church at Philippi).

Next Sunday is going to be our baptism celebration. . . Check out this awesome video on Liquid Church baptisms: http://vimeo.com/3973808

The Sunday after that is our “Elevate Worship” Sunday. . . an all-music service. I can’t wait for 4/12 and 4/19!

Main points of Pastor Tom’s message:
    1) Worry about nothing (Phil. 4.6)
    2) Pray about everything (Phil. 4.6)
    3) Think about the right things (Phil. 4.8)

The promise: God’s peace will protect you. (Phil 4.7)

We had an awesome day in Dickson too. My parents were in town, so they got to attend CP with me. It was nice to have Pete in Dickson and super-great to hear Chad preach!

Special prayer request – Hubby says he MIGHT go to Nashville service with me on Saturday. That will be a huge step and I really hope that he goes. Plus, I have never been to the Nash campus and I am super-excited!
