“Make a careful exploration of who you are and the work you have been given, and then sink yourself into that. Don’t be impressed with yourself. Don’t compare yourself with others. Each of you must take responsibility for doing the creative best you can with your own life.”
Galatians 6:4-5 (The Message)
I don’t know about you but there are seasons of my life where I feel like God gives me a word to live with, wrestle with, process and apply to my life. Lately that word has been “responsibility”. I’ve been overwhelmed by the responsibility that God has entrusted me with. I feel the weight of the decisions I make and the influence I have every day. And I can’t shake the immense responsibility I feel.
This passage from Galatians has almost become like a life verse in this season of my life. It summarizes what I feel like God is speaking directly to me these days.
- Explore who I am and God’s calling on my life
- Dive into that calling
- Don’t become prideful
- Don’t compare myself with others
- Take responsibility
- Do the best with the life/gifts/influence God has given me
Is there a word that God has been speaking to you lately?
