Fabulous Friday – GIVE! Favorite Things
Today was the first day I’ve had some time to start working on my Christmas shopping lists. I love the hunt for the perfect gift!
So I thought I would share with you a few of my “favorite things” so far this year.
And let me pause there for a moment… I know Oprah does her “favorite things” episode, but I’m hereby claiming it back from her. I guarantee I could take her in a sing off of Julie Andrew’s version of “My Favorite Things”! “Raindrops on roses and whispers on kittens…”
🙂
Ok, so here are a few of my favorite things so far this year:
Give $10 and join my team to help provide clean water for an entire village in Uganda. Together we could give an amazing Christmas gift!

2) Thistle Farms Bath & Body Products
This week I toured an amazing ministry just down the road from Cross Point.
Thistle Farms is the social enterprise that is run by the women of Magdalene (Magdalene is a residential program for women who have survived lives of violence, prostitution and addiction). By hand, the women create natural bath and body products that are as good for the earth as they are for the body. Purchases of Thistle Farms products directly benefit the women who made them. Thistle Farms employs 31 Magdalene residents or graduates. While working at Thistle Farms, women learn skills in manufacturing, packaging, marketing and sales and administration. It is a supportive workplace where women acquire the skills they need to earn a living wage.
I absolutely love their products and they are great gifts! You can do some shopping HERE.
3) iRobot
Ok, and for fun… how about this gadget? Anyone know if it really works? Kinda makes me want one. I’m so compulsive about vacuuming that I think it would be running all the time!
What are some of your favorite things this Christmas?
Wow, checked out Thistle Farms and Magdalene’s website. I’m impressed … love in action.
And I want an iRobot also 🙂
As for my favorite things this season … I’m taking a minimalist (focusing more on experiences than gifts) attitude towards Christmas this year, so I’m not doing a lot of shopping. My favorite thing is being invited to parties at friends/family … and planning to host a few events also, but I like the ones I’m invited to better 🙂
Janet, friends and family time is the best part about this season! Hope you have a wonderful Christmas!
Many thanks Jenni for the visit and the wonderful post!
with love from marlei all the women of Thistle Farms
Marlei, it was such a joy to see the impact you guys are making. Thank you!
