You Deserve a Platform!

UPDATE:  This giveaway has ended.  Using Random.org I generated the winner who was Eleanor, the 2nd commenter.

I love reading about the various platforms that you all are building.  Praying that you’ll keep pursuing all that God has called you to.  Even though you didn’t win Michael’s book, it will definitely be worth the investment to purchase it!

——————————————————————————————

I’ve got a good one for you today everybody!

Recently I started reading Michael Hyatt‘s new book Platform: Get Noticed in a Noisy World and you need to check it out too!

To be successful in the market today, you must possess two strategic assets: a compelling product and a meaningful platform. It has never been easier, less expensive, or more possible than right now to build your platform and Michael Hyatt will show you how.

Platform offers a step-by-step guide with proven strategies, practical tips and easy-to-replicate formulas. Whether you are an author, pastor, public speaker, entrepreneur, musician, or small business owner… developing your platform is critical for your success.

I have witnessed Michael living this out and am grateful that he’s sharing his wisdom with us!

I’ve got a copy to give away today on the blog!!

Simply leave a message and tell us about your platform… or the platform you hope this book will help you build.  Ready, set, GO!

Jenni-  what a great idea for a book.  I know I get attention for being a woman general contractor in the construction business but the thought of using it as a platform….. hmmm . It might be easier to build a house : )  With hand tools.  Blindfolded…..  Just kidding.

Well, I need a platform for the book I plan to write. Does it work for aspiring novelists??

    • Jenni Catron June 16, 2012

Eleanor, I think it does! Put me first on the list to read your novel. Congratulations – you won the book!!

I hope to establish a voice for Christians struggling with infertility issues and address being a stepfather with dad type of advice as well.

I am a pastor and I believe that platform will help me to better utilize Facebook, Twitter, and my blog as a means to communicate Christ. I also believe that it will help teach me how to build influence and why the end product whether it be a book or blog post always needs to be the best that I can produce.

I’m a pastor working with other pastors as we fight an epidemic of poverty in our area. The resources are there, but hidden, and we need a better platform for rallying the troops.

I have a platform in that I am leading a church with my husband…but I am also revisiting the idea to start my blog again as a personal platform. So the book would def help…

I enjoy Michael Hyatt’s advise on his blog and would love to read his book. I am wanting to build my platform for both my blog and my speaking ministry. I want to use the mess of my past to be a message of encouragement for women dealing with depression.

I am truly struggling with a book that I’m trying to write and oh my gosh! What more Amazing advice could I only get from a very inspiring person Michael Hyatt!

  • Authorhelenaleite June 13, 2012

I have been trying to build a platform and it has been a challenge. I believe that this book will set me in the right direction. For what I have learned about Michael, it should be a must have for anyone trying to build a platform.

I started writing a blog about two years ago, and i use it as a platform for a book. But i guess i’m not doing the right things if i’ve spent two years building this platform. Some key points are missing.

I do life purpose coaching and want to improve communicating the empowerment performing with purpose can do. Platform is on the top of my wish list! http://afocusedpurpose.com

I’ve learned much from others about building my platform, but I’m intrigued to hear what exactly Mr Hyatt has to say about building a platform. I’d love a copy of Platform to see what all the hype is about.

I am about to launch a blog that will gather info from great sources and consolidate for readers in the areas of Family, Faith, Finance, Future. Helping to empower folks that may have lost some hope. I believe this book could help me find that voice as I begin this ministry in my life.

  • @amanda_fanger June 13, 2012

Hey thanks for this opportunity! I re-launched my author’s website at the beginning of May after hanging on every word of advice from Michael. I joined Twitter and began making connections through that and other social media sites. My blog went from an all-time, one-shoot high of 267 views in a month to nearly 1000 just at my re-launch. I’m learning that it’s all about networking and making meaningful connections with people. If someone is struggling, I try to offer them what advice I can. Since my relaunch, I’ve doubled my blog followers and have a goal to more than double that total number by year’s end.

    Thanks!

I am reaching people with the message of what it means to follow Christ and to lead others. I am a pastor and a blogger, seeking to lead my church fellowship closer to Christ and a larger audience through the website (www.FollowOneLeadOthers.com). Thanks for offering this resource. I’m not sure what is my platform.  I’m not sure what is my “voice” as a writer is, but I know I’m on my way to finding out.  I quit my job on faith, I’m writing, I’m researching opportunities online, and trusting God with the day to day needs.  It’s an adventure to say the least!  (I’m a former TN resident.  I lived in Sevierville for 10 years, and have many freinds in the Nashville/Murfreesboro area.  I miss the mountains!)

  • AngelaPayne June 13, 2012

My platform requires me to shift between the desire to walk in humility and present my message with confidence. Having had two books published… I failed in building a platform a few years ago. My desire now is to direct my audience to walk in Ordinary Living Ink! Seeing the beauty in the sacred Ordinary and allowing Him to be the ink that writes the scripts of our lives. Thank you.

  • Elaine Smith June 13, 2012

I would love to win this for a dear friend who is a new author, speaker, non-profit founder and is trying to build a platform.  Sounds like this book has some great information.

  • Chris Lautsbaugh June 13, 2012

I have a passion for speaking about and writing on the grace of God. I am building a book and blog following through http://www.nosuperheroes.com. Michael is one of the industry leaders and  I would be thrilled to learn from him. I feel grace is the most important message out there, that all need to hear it. Of course, it is the core of the Christian message!

  • Trevor Acy June 13, 2012

My target platform is young professionals who are willing to discuss their business and faith and how they relate.

  • Mwoodruff47 June 13, 2012

I have recently written a book entitled, Developing Godly Character that will change the lives of all who embrace it’s message.  This book Platform will teach and guide me in the step-by-step process of building a greater platform so that I can reach as many people with this message as possible.

  • Jtrandolph June 13, 2012

I am looking to start a Platform for a blog and my Conference Speaking/Training business.

  • Jenny June 13, 2012

My platform is to bring grace and humor into the complicated lives of women in ministry, either in the workplace or in their family.  I’d enjoy reading this book!

  • Kenny June 13, 2012

I am working along with others in our community to impact our local education, encouraging students to pursue career paths, and also challenge themselves by taking a more rigorous course of study.
This has become a “platform” for us.  it takes buy-in from our schools, parents and students.
It also has become a ministry, in that, we provide encouragement and hope to many young men and women.  We are validating to them that they are important, and that we care about their future.
The book “Platform” would be a very useful tool for myself and others.

  • Living in Christ June 13, 2012

I am writing a book about the love and faithfulness of God.  I want to build a platform that will encourage others to remain steadfast during their journey of following Christ.

I believe the new book (Platform) will be very helpful to me.

    Thanks,
    Amy von Bortsel

  • Carole Smith June 13, 2012

I just started building this elusive Author’s Platform the end of March after I attending a Christian Writer’s Conference and had a 15 minute pitch with a Tyndale Publisher.  He really like my pitch and told me to email his son directly who is a Literary Agent.  He then responded with “Show me your Platform”… so here I am 2-1/2 months later with brand new blog
http://caroleasmith.blogspot.com/ Twitter from 0 to 271 followers not even knowing what a tweet was!  (twitter has been the most time consuming and difficult to build up initial following) new FB Author’s Page….
******sigh**** I REALLY need this book!  Off to good start but could use some more encouragement!

  • turner_bethany June 13, 2012

I love writing, and I love the nations. I am currently using my blog and my twitter account to build up my platform. There are several ideal type positions I have in my mind for my career, and I am hoping to use my platform to be a part of a nonprofit serving oversees.

  • Alanna Love June 13, 2012

I’m a freelance writer and editor wanting to learn how to expand my influence across this nation (and further). I want what I write to affect my culture, and how can I affect anyone without a platform. Time to get the word out!

  • Michael E Grasso June 13, 2012

I have been working on launching a Mentorship Network http://www.wcmn.org I want to teach mentorship, to help build up the leaders of tomorrow.  If we want everything God has helped us create to continue, we must mentor young leaders today.

  • Jenni Catron June 13, 2012

Oh my!  You all have some amazing things you’re working on!  Love hearing about your passions and your platforms!
