Dreaming

I have a recurring dream…

I dream that I am crossing the English Channel on a crazy stunt-filled, adrenaline jolting, Ninja warrior-type obstacle course.  Yeah, I’m flying through the air with the greatest of ease.

It’s always pretty funny when I wake up, but in the dream it’s the most intense, nerve-racking thing I’ve experienced.

Why I’m not crossing by boat?  I have no idea.  Why the English channel?  Not sure except that I love England so that has to have something to do with it.  This dream is incredibly vivid and the obstacle course is always exactly the same.

In fact, when I was a kid my recurring dream was me crossing the Wisconsin River on a gigantic set of monkey bars.  Apparently my choice in bodies of water has improved and I’ve become a little more adventurous in my stunting.

Oh, and by the way… I always make it across 🙂

So, for some random fun, what’s your craziest recurring dream?

Fire… scary and sad to say, but it’s been my reoccurring nightmare since I was a kid. Always a home – some I know, some I don’t and always the similar scenario. I stumble upon it with someone else (that person changes, too) and when we get to it, there is nobody around – no homeowners – no neighbors – no firefighters. The odd thing, it doesn’t progress… the flames just idle.

Flying has always been a periodic dream as well – but I’m always a bird and I am always flying over a city or along a coastline. Apparently flying dreams are somehow related to high intelligence! 🙂

So pretty much since I can remember, these have been my 2 dreams.

Now Bradley dreamed of scary monkeys last night – hope that’s not going to be his reoccurring dream! 🙂

    ok – guess I can’t spell “recurring” either…

I always dream that I am the maid of honor in my best friends wedding and when I get to the church, which is one obstacle after another, I don’t have my shoes or the right dress.
Another similar one that I have has the same theme except it is a high school basketball game and I am a starter. I get there and I don’t have my shoes. And there are no shoes in the locker room that could remotely be worn to play basketball. My dreams always end right there! I never know what the outcome was.
I always wake in a panic. I HATE those dreams!

LOL – Marla – we gotta figure out what the symbolism is of shoes!

I’m a very vivid dreamer – sometimes a blessing and sometimes a curse. I have a recurring dream that I am flying. I run real fast (always away from some sort of danger) and I lift off into the sky. It’s incredible, yet I usually wake up before I come down – often times with my heart pounding in my chest.
Another one that sticks out… my teeth falling out – this is horrifying – I’ll be in the middle of a sentence and put my hand up to my mouth only to come away with a handful of teeth. I’ve read that it’s supposed to mean that you are pregnant, but since I only have 2 children and have had the dream a lot more than twice I don’t believe it.

@Paula – anything with fire is not cool, but the flying totally fits you!

@Marla – love the shoe related dreams, there has to be some good meaning in there somewhere

@Holly – the teeth would freak me out!!

Going with Holly on this one I often have the same tooth dream. Mine don’t fall out though. They just start to crumble and break then spill out of my mouth. I know gross, and yes it freaks me out.

That..Is..Crazy!!!!! Wow. My recurring dream is more like a nightmare. I dream that I am supposed to re-take a class in order to graduate from college. I am panic strickin the whole time because in my dream it is present day time and I freak out that I’ve been lying all these years about having a degree. Mine nightmare is not nearly as exciting as flying, or monkey bars!

Cool dream. My recurring dream is that I have a mouth FULL of gum. It’s stuck, I can’t talk, and I spend much of the dream trying to figure out how to get free of the gum. Not my favorite dream.

These dreams are making me laugh!

My recurring dream is that someone is chasing me and I’m always running in slow motion. When I was a kid it was always the Incredible Hulk. These days it changes a bit. Sometimes it’s Brandi, sometimes you. Just kidding. 🙂

I also dream that my mouth is full of gum and I can’t pull it out, there is always still lots of gum left. I’m not sure what it means.

another dream is that I’m back in college to take more courses to graduate, even though in the dream, i’ve already graduated from that school and i’m much older.
