Fabulous Friday

Fridays are seriously my favorite day of the week.  I work from home on Fridays and my introvert thrives on this alone time!  An entire day that I can get lost in reading, writing, emails and project planning.  I also usually throw in a long run to give me some space for thinking and dreaming.  A day to myself is seriously heaven.

Anyone else relate to that?

So anyway, here are a couple of things that I wanted to share with you all today:

1) The Cultivate Her team and I are working on some brilliant plans for 2011 and if you are a woman in ministry and/or leadership, we’d love to get your feedback.  Would you mind taking a quick second and responding to this poll?

2) I’ve got a giveaway for you all this week!

Thanks to my friends at INO Records I’m giving away 5 copies of the The Afters new album Light Up the Sky.

Here’s how to enter to win:

Leave a comment telling me what you like, dislike or think could be improved or expanded on my new blog.  (I hope you noticed the redesign!!  Big thanks to Kyle Reed!) Feel free to give design advice, but I’m most interested in what kind of content you would like to see.

Happy Fabulous Friday!

    Yay for The Afters.

But seriously, I most appreciate the honest content on your blog. A lot of leaders talk about the desire to be transparent, or to share struggles, but then the struggles that are shared seem so… rehearsed. Especially reading about this last Sunday, where you didn’t want to go to work, I just really appreciated your honesty and willingness to put it out there (when we have all had that thought on a Sunday morning).

Thanks. The design looks great, my only critique is that a lot of bloggers are using this format and so it’s not too distinct. But the content sets it apart.

Thanks Adam. Thanks for encouraging the honesty… and thanks for giving me honest feedback 🙂

    Hey Jenni!
What I love most about your blog (and would love to see more of) is when you look back into your “early” days into leadership. Your peanut butter days post has by far been my favorite, mainly because that is where I am at now. Seeing lessons learned through tough times (and seeing the tough times indeed end) has been such an encouragement to me.

But you already knew that! 🙂

    Christina

Just keeping being honest about the lesson you’ve learned through the years.

I like that when you communicate things you’ve learned, you don’t just share the lesson, but the human frailty that brought you to that place.

      Thank you, Sherri!

the content is excellent, from the little i have read, having only come to subscribe by email relatively recently.

I like the standard theme and you have made it bright and colourful. I’m sure reflective of your personality.

I do agree with Amy and her desire to see ‘some “everyday” posts with pics and fun bloggy stuff like that’ Serious is alright, but I’m sure only a small part of who you are.

Blessing on you and the ministry you’re called to be a part.

Thank you so much Douglas. I’m so glad to have you as a new subscriber! You and Amy are going to stretch me to have a bit more fun 🙂

    Love this design!
And would love some new music, so hope I win 🙂

As for blog content … that’s a tough question — there’s so many blog ‘rules’ that sometimes I get confused what I should do on my blog, but I’ve recently decided, screw the ‘rules’ I’m doing what feels right for me. Not sure how that will work, but I’m going to try it.

Anyhow, I say all that to say … do what feels right to you, be the real YOU!

Absolutely LOVE the design. SO fun. and as for content, I love a bit everything and really just enjoy hearing from your heart…being true to that and following God’s leading which I’m sure you do =)

This is my first time to your site & only because I like listening to the Afters song Light Up The Sky that has been played on WMUZ the Light in the morning on my way to work. It really helps start my day off great!
Your site looks pretty fresh! I’ll have to check it out more when I’m not so busy with work and school – in about a month.
BTW I would love to get a copy of the Afters CD!

  • Melissa Duncan November 8, 2010

I love the new look of the blog. I matches the paintings Lisa did for your house, which I love.

The leadership posts are great as I just moved into managing people a year ago, but my favorites are the Fabulous Friday posts. Since we don’t get to hang out as much anymore due to some many other commitments, I love seeing that you are taking time for yourself and relaxing. When I don’t see those posts, I worry that you are not taking enough time for yourself. I know I am preaching to the choir, but you asked. : )

    • Jenni Catron November 9, 2010

Woohoo, Melissa! You won The Afters CD. Do you want me to just bring it to you or mail it?

By the way, thank you for reading all the time. Wish we had more time to hang out these days!!
